OJT or On-The-Job Training, is broadly
defined as any training or development activity conducted
for the workers at the work site for workers to learn specific
skills under the guidance of a supervisor or skilled worker.
Through the EDB's Local Industry Upgrading Programme (LIUP),
several Process Industry services providers including Hiap
Seng Engineering decided to pioneer the skills upgrading of
workforce by participating in the development of OJT blueprints.
HSE established the Certified On-the-Job Training Centre at
it's premises (COJTC) for qualifying Pipe Fitting skills in
1997.
Trainees completing the center's training are certified by
ITE at NTC level 3 which is recognised at national level.
We emphasise the need to continuously upgrade the skills of
our workforce through training and retraining. This enables
us to remain competitive and be at the forefront of ever changing
technologies.
