Hiap Seng Engineering Ltd (HSE) is a major engineering services
provider covering engineering, procurement & construction
(EPC) projects & plant maintenance services for oil & gas,
petrochemical, oil terminals, chemical, pharmaceutical, power
plants & infrastructure industry in Singapore & the region.
Hiap Seng was founded in 1950 by Mr. Tan Kuay Hoe under the
name Hiap Seng Engineering Works (HSEW) to offer services
covering structural steel fabrication and other minor steel
works. HSEW undertook it's first milestone project in 1960s
when it successfully completed the construction & erection
of storage tanks and related piping works for British Petroleum,
Singapore.
On 29 March, 1971, the firm was corporatised and it's name
was changed to Hiap Seng Engineering & Construction Pte Ltd.
Over the years the company has expanded operations with strategic
alliances and acquisitions to become one of the major players
in project & maintenance services pertaining to Oil & gas
and process industry.
The company was subsequently listed in the Singapore stock
exchange in June, 1999 and named as Hiap Seng Engineering
Limited.
In line with our vision to offer quality
services to our clients, we attained ISO 9001-2000 certification
in Oct, 2003 and were accredited with ASME 'U' & 'S' stamp
certificates in Jan, 2003.
We were also awarded 'Enterprise 50' award by Singapore government
during 1995, 1996 & 1998.
Hiap Seng also has operations in Malaysia, holding 60% equity
in its subsidiary PT Technic Engineering Sdn Bhd, located
at Selangor, Darul Ehsan. PT Technic was established in 1991
to undertake projects in Oil & Gas & Petrochemical industry
specializing in Piping, Tankage, Structural Steel & Mechanical
installation works.
In line with company's long term vision to expand and become
regional, in 2003 Hiap Seng set up a joint-venture company
Nasco-Hiap Seng Engineering in Thailand to offer fabrication
& integrated engineering services to oil & gas, petrochemical,
oil terminals, chemical & pharmaceutical industry. The Thailand
factory is located at Sriracha, Chonburi.
